LaACES 2006-2007 Sessions Begin  - 09/06

The LaACES 2006-2007 Program has started at 5 Universities across the State of Louisiana.  Participating institutions include LSU, McNeese, SUBR, LaTech, and UNO.

LaACES Recruitment for 2006-2007 Session - 6/14/06

LaACES will begin its next season of student training and balloon payload development this coming fall.  Institutions anticipated to be involved in the 2006-2007 academic year program include Louisiana State University, University of New Orleans, Southern University, Louisiana Tech and McNeese.  Students interested in participating in this years program should contact their institution LaACES leader (See the Groups page).

LaACES Balloon Launch Successfully Concluded - 5/29/06

This year two balloon vehicles were successfully launched from the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility.  ACES-04 launched on May 23, 2006 reached an altitude of close to 109,000 feet before the balloon burst and ACES-05 launched on May 24, 2006 was successfully cut-down at an altitude of ~97,000 feet.  These vehicles carried student-built payloads from LSU-BR, LaTech and McNeese.  Futher, details about the flights and payloads can be found on the Flight Information page.
